What Are Routed and Scheduled Deliveries?

Xcel Delivery Services offers both routed and scheduled delivery, but you may be wondering what the difference is between these two services. Keep reading while we explain the differences to help you determine the best option for your business needs.

Routed Delivery

For routed delivery, our drivers follow a route when completing deliveries. With our routed delivery service, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we pick up your product at the end of the business day. Our drivers then drive the most efficient route that ensures your shipment and any other shipments they are carrying are delivered by 2:30 pm the following day. This is an ideal option if you do not require an early day delivery and just want to be sure your package is delivered sometime the next day.

Scheduled Delivery

Scheduled delivery is just what the name implies. You schedule when you need your delivery picked up and how often, and our drivers will be there on time. The frequency of your delivery does not matter; we can work with your delivery schedule. This service is available for local and out of town deliveries.

With both delivery options, our reliable and professional drivers will always be in uniform and wearing an ID badge, so you can be sure your shipment is being handled by the right delivery service. We have a large assortment of vehicle types available to handle any shipment size, and all of our vehicles are equipped with GPS, so we can track your shipments and provide real-time updates at your request.
