From Topock and Golden Shores in the West to Flagstaff in the middle and Lupton in the East, the entire road has something for everyone. Topock and Golden Shores
If you’re traveling across Arizona’s stretch of Route 66 and coming from the West, the first exit you will see is Exit 1, for Topock and Golden Shores. This first section has some beautiful sights to see, including the Old Trails Arch Bridge. If you would like to delve into nature, consider stopping by the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge.
Flagstaff
Towards the middle of Arizona’s portion of Route 66 you will find Flagstaff. There is plenty to do when you take Exit 198, including Northern Arizona University. The adventurous types may enjoy the Arizona Snowbowl and Flagstaff Nordic Adventure Center as well as the Extreme Adventure Course. You can also find national monuments like Walnut Canyon and Sunset Crater.
Lupton
Exit 359, which ends the stretch of Route 66 that runs through Arizona on the East, is home to the gorgeous Red Rock Cliffs. Once you have stopped to enjoy the photo op, you can stop by the gateway to the Navajo nation or head to the Official Arizona Office of Tourism Welcome Center.
